Shrinkage due to viscous sintering of the glass matrix begins ~400°C and reaches 20% linear shrinkage by 500°C. Little additional shrinkage was observed during the hold at 500°C. 4 g/cm3 with <1% open porosity. When mixtures containing more than 20% Agl-MOR were heated to 500°C, the samples contained high levels of open porosity which is undesirable for chemical durability.
