Did personal animosity or political difference obscure the subtlety of Most’s critique—his praise of Berkman and simultaneous condemnation of his act? Intermingled with reports and opinion pieces in the German anarchist press is Most’s position statement, “Attentats-Reflexionen,” a portion of which is published here for the first time in English translation (see note 1, Letter to Der Anarchist, 30 July 1892).
